Draft Law - Environmental Code

Draft Version

The draft law describes the issue of creating safer environment and more capacities for environmental usage in Georgia.

The draft law is prepared with support of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Georgia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The opinions mentioned in the draft law may not meet the views of the ministry and UNDP.

The public discussion of the code started on 17 November, 2009 and was held at the Ministry of Environment Protection of Georgia. (Address: N6 G. Gulua Street, Tbilisi)

The public discussions were held on the following issues:

• Access on environmental information;
• Regulation of environmental impact;
• Usage of land and minerals;
• Usage of water
