Legal Department

Legal Department is a structural subdivision of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Georgia. Structural units of the Department are: Division of Court Suits Provision and Division of Legal Acts Preparation and Expertise.

The functions and aims of the Department are: to prepare legal conclusions on projects of normative acts drawn out by structural units of ministry and State Sub-agency Organizations of Ministry, to implement activities of parliament secretary of the ministry, to coordinate procedures of presenting projects of legal acts to Georgian government made in the ministry, representation of the ministry in Georgian courts, to analyze legal issues connected with the activities of ministry, to implement legislative activities of the ministry, to implement harmonization of Georgian legislation with international environmental law (conventions), to discus advertisements, letters and complaints received from citizens and other entities of public law within its competence.
